Some thoughts on last week...

When last I posted anything it was the QFs in Dubai, Acapulco, and Delray for the Men. And heading into the R16 for the Women in Acapulco and Kuala Lumpur. The demands and drama of life have kept me from posting but time to get right back on the horse. Especially with Indian Wells, Miami, and a slew of Clay court Tourneys right around the corner.

I'm just going to post some thoughts on last week's tournaments while waiting for the Indian Wells Quallie draw for the Men.

Dubai: For me, the highlight of Dubai was Youzhny and Tipsarevic making it to the QFs. That's where they both lost but still it was a good week. Youzhny is now 0-12 against Federer but I still hold out hope that he will get that one before all is said and done.

Acapulco: Two titles in a row for David Ferrer. What more can be said? I didn't see the Final but I would say beating Verdasco 1 & 2 was pretty clear. I did see some of Berlocq's QF and I could have sworn he would take that and face Ferrer in the SFs. If I remember correctly, he was up 5-2 in the 1st? Regardless...great week for Ferrer and I hope that helps him for IW and Miami. And also another great Title run for the team of David Marrero/Fernando Verdasco. Don't know who this Marrero guy is but must be a pretty good dubs player.

Delray: This tourney fell flat for me pretty early. Melzer lost in the 1st round. And the Malisse followed suit in the R16. I watched that match on live feed and his attitude was horrible. No surprise to me that he and Mark Knowles also lost in Doubles. None of my favorites in Singles made it to the QFs.

Kuala Lumpur: This WTA tourney had two favorites. Jelena Dokic was was the 7th seed and lost in the R16 to Olivia Rogowska in 3sets. And the #2 seed Jelena Jankovic who would lose to (5)Petra Martic in 3 sets, 6-7(5) 7-5 7-6(5). Martic retired in the 3rd set of the Final due to "heat illness".

Acapulco: The highlight of Acapulco was definitely seeing Michaella Krajicek make it to the QFs. Though she went down easily to Vinci 2 & 0 it was still great to see. Another highlight was the Wildcard team of Gisela Dulko/Paola Suarez making it to the SFs.

I will post again soon about Indian Wells.
